Merry meet all,
Naming the Goddess is a book published by Moon Books. I was a contributor to the book. It describes several goddesses and talks about Goddess spirituality. The book was published in 2014. It is an excellent book.
Naming the Goddess is written by over eighty adherents and scholars of Goddess and Goddess Spirituality, and includes contributions from Selena Fox, Kathy Jones, Caroline Wise and Rachel Patterson. Part 1 is a series of critical essays focusing upon contemporary Goddess issues. Part 2 is a spiritual gazetteer featuring over seventy Goddesses.
The book begins with a foreword by Cheryl Straffon (Editor of Goddess Alive! magazine). She discusses her own travels to goddess practice. The next introduction is by Selena Fox (founder of Circle Sanctuary) who lists 7 different spiritual paths to the Goddess. There are many spiritual paths to the Goddess but she lists 7 of them.
The rest of the book describes 72 different Goddesses. This is what I felt was the heart of the book. I read about many Goddesses I knew and many that I never heard of. I enjoyed reading about the different Goddesses. My own essay was published in this book, Sedna the Inuit Sea Goddess. The essay was also published in the Eternal Haunted Summer Ezine.
The ending of the book, the Epilogue, really disappointed me after reading about these strong Goddesses, the ending seemed weak and tepid to me. But overall, it is a great book.
Blessed Be, Lady Spiderwitch )O(
