Merry meet all,
I had a ton of fun at the Once Upon a Fairy Tale Faire. I dressed as the Lavender Fairy. I suffered it out in a corset, the costume and wings. I absolutely loved the Faire.I had the most wonderful time.
I was sorted by the Sorting Hat (same one as at Hogwarts0. I got Hufflepuff. I then set out on having fun and wreaking mischief, though I had a lot of the former, not the latter… well….
So I set out to see the different vendor’s pretty wares ok some scary. There were great swords too heavy for me to lift, fudge for me to sample (mm), costumes, jewels, elf ears, leather wares, deer and horse skulls, herbal teas, Mad Hatter Tea Parties, and so many other wonderful treasures. They were all made possible because of the crafts people’s dedication. There was a huge castle made of balloons, yup I know, a large, mock fencing tournaments, and lectures about the herb mandrake, having faeries in your home. It was so much fun.
I bumped into Cathy Kempton, my first witchcraft mentor, and a few other people I knew. I was delighted to see her again. This kid walked in and wanted to know where the faires were- so the father asked me. Yup I was a fairy. A lot of people loved my costume and even took pics of me. If they only knew how I suffered in it……
I got a beautiful fairy butterfly necklace, a vial of fairy dust, a fairy offering of a teapot and tiny tea cups, incense, herbal death teas, I sampled teas and fudges, and was even treated to tea and cakes by the Red Queen in the Mad hatter tea party – I got a ticket from soneone when I wasn’t supposed to have a ticket.!!!!!! I curtsied in front of the Red Queen!!!
i did collect biz cards. Good thing I didn’t have a $100 could easily have spent it there on such magical wonderful treasures. I took many pics. Doing it all over again next year. I loved every moment of the magial faire. I would do it all over again. I felt truly pretty and light with the wings and skirt. I fairy blessed everyone- my friends, children and some adults too.
There were many fairy homes made of moss and this stuff. I fairy blessed everyone. I had pizza and pop for lunch I Sure suffered in a corset and wings. What a time I had trying to sit in a chair or in my friend’s car or even get through a door way in wings. Oy or even sit on a toilet or even wrap my shawl around my shoulders. We visited Mike at work and we found out he wanted the glow in the dark ouija board. So we went back to the fairy event, bought it for him, and gave it to him at the witch shop. His grandmother forbid Mike to own one so we had to return it.
It was hard going in a costume. I leaned forward during rides in the car with wings on, I perched carefully in a chair at the fairy event, I tipped my wings way forward, put on my shawl and then stood up and got my wings back on my back and adjusted my shawl in the bathroom. Eventually I learned to remove the wings in the car on rides. I had two necklaces. When I got out of the wings, the wings caught on my crown twice and on my outfit. I had to get detangled. Ugh what a time. I would do it all over again.

Merry meet all,
Who besides me hates winter? Let’s see a showing of witch hats. Yeah I thought you would all agree. Last night’s full moon was the last of the dark winter full moons for the season. It gets exciting from here. Spring is on its way. So you can all breathe a sigh of relief. I am.
I think winter affects us in more ways than just seasonal affective disorder. I have not felt any inclination to do any magick at all. This is not like me. I do enjoy it. It could be because I live alone and never have any company for an esbat. It could be because it is hard to know if you are growing or not when you live alone. These things all contribute to how and when and if people perform magick. It certainly affects me. I performed a simple meditation last night. That is all I had the energy for.
Yet I managed to manifest a cat. It sounds like I need more confidence in myself and trust in myself. So I propose to try to have more confidence and trust in myself. I do suffer from anxiety and depression, which can take over your life. I usually try to not let this affect me. I have to keep thinking Spring is almost here. The Spring Equinox occurs later this month. Who couldn’t be cheered up that?
So I can assume that this depression I am going through could possibly by seasonal. Let’s hope so. By the way, I hope you all check out the amazing movie The Theory of Everything about Stephan Hawking. I watched that movie yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I was so engrossed in the movie I forgot about everything else. You will cheer for Stephan Hawking. He is inspirational.

Merry Meet All,
I hope you are busy tending to your seedlings. According to the zone I live in, the first full moon after June signifies the best time for planting and the danger of frost is past. My dill is growing indoors but as soon as I can, I will plant it straight in the garden. I am hedging on whether to keep my veggies indoors, because I can’t think of a way to keep raccoons away. They are clever determined critters. Of course, we remove their homes and then get angry at them. Makes no sense.
Today the New Moon reigns and I am so relieved. I thought Waning Moon would be forever. That’s ridiculous, of course. The moon begins in Taurus and moves to Gemini by this afternoon. Gemini makes room for lighthearted fun and new ideas. This would be a good time to begin new projects- like working on your indoor or outdoor garden. I am reading Kate West’s The Real Witches Garden book and it suggests fantastic ways to make your garden magickal. Here is the link to the book on Amazon: http://www.amazon.ca/Real-Witches-Garden-Kate-West/dp/0738721247/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368189217&sr=8-1&keywords=The+Real+witches+garden
I have found a new use for milk or cream cartons. I cut the carton, poke a hole in the bottom to allow for drainage, rinse it out and let it dry. Once dry, I add soil to the carton. I use a fork to remove the seedling from the seed flat carefully. I do not want to harm the tender roots. I settle the seedling into the carton, allowing the plant to have room to grow stronger roots. Don’t throw your cartons out. They make good seedling holders. Place a crystal in the bottom of the carton to keep the soil from falling out. The crystal’s vibrations might help the plants grow. The crystals that correspond would be clear quartz, amethyst, and flourite. I put moss green agate in my garden once but I found it did not help the plants grow. Remember to water and fertilize the plants. I use organic Neptune’s Harvest fish emulsion. I also added cold coffee to my tomato seedling. The nitrogen in the coffee helps it to grow but I will stop adding cold coffee once it flowers. The nitrogen stops aiding the plant after that.
Mother’s Day is coming up. Have you all thought of some gifts to let your Mother know she’s appreciated? I plan to gift my Mom with some of my veggie seedlings. I planted too many and can now give some as gifts. If you plan to make some natural beauty products and give those as gifts, here is a link for how to make them.
Good luck with growing your herbs and flowers or vegetables this summer!! I wish you the very best. Happy planting.
Merry Meet All,
Today I can see sprouts pushing up in the soil in my seed trays. It’s fun to watch them grow. The sun is shining hard and birds chirp outside. The bright blue sky beckons me outdoors. I will answer this call, this morning is too beautiful to be stuck indoors.
I know you all had a fun Beltaine. I will be posting more here about growing our beloved organic flowers, veggies, and herbs so stay posted.
On May 10, a solar eclipse will ignite the sky. On May 13, the Celtic Tree month of Hawthorn begins. May 25 is the Full Flower Moon, a good time to ask the lunar goddesses to bless the seedlings you are growing. That is a lot to look forward to.
I wish you all a Merry Beltaine!

Merry Meet All,
Tomorrow is Spring Equinox!! I hope you are all as excited as I am!! Dust off your cauldrons and broomsticks for a ride into the wild green wilderness with the Goddess and the Green Man. Bump into some hares and eggs on the way.
I am proud to announce that Eternal Haunted Summer has released their Spring issue on the website. My article, The Fires of Beltaine is published as well as fascinating contributions from other writers. Here is the link to Eternal Haunted Summer: http://eternalhauntedsummer.com/ Be sure to read this amazing issue. I took a peek and it looks great. I especially enjoyed the poem about the Goddess Morrigan and the interview with a successful Pagan author, Elissa Wilds.
I would love to hear how you plan to honour Spring Equinox! Please feel free to comment on my blog and share your altar photos. I am sure your altars are all already beautifully decorated. Do share.
For those of you who dwell in Haligonia, there is to be a ritual at the Universalist Unitarian Church on 5500 Inglis Street at 6:30 pm on March 29th. There will be a ritual followed by a feast and a gifting table. Feel free to join in the fun.
Merry Ostara to all of you pagans and witches!! The wind may be cold but the sun is on our backs. May March go in like a lion and out like a lamb.
